
The Slater City Council reviewed the city’s employee health insurance during its meeting on Tuesday, November 5.
The council heard a presentation regarding the city’s current healthcare plan. City Administrator Gene Griffith said the council reviewed with its current plan with United Healthcare, which will have a 5.2 percent increase in the rates. Griffith said the council decided to renew the insurance plan, even with the increase.
In other news, Mayor Terry Jordan brought up an upcoming gift card giveaway the Slater Chamber of Commerce is holding. This event replaces the Turkey Giveaway the chamber used to host in previous years. Residents can sign up for the giveaway at several locations in Slater, including Exchange Bank, C & R, and City Hall.
The giveaway will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, November 25.
