STATE GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

The Santa Fe Chiefs are in Cape Girardeau for their 24th trip to the MSHSAA State Girls’ Volleyball Championships.  The 23-9 Chiefs face Advance (22-11-2) in the first semifinal, which begins at 2 p.m.  We’ll have pregame from 1:50 p.m. on KMMO AM 1300.  Winona (32-3-2) and Jasper (34-1) face off in the second semifinal at 4 p.m.

The Odessa Bulldogs were swept in their semifinal tilt Thursday morning by the Potosi Trojans, falling three sets to none in their Class Three State Volleyball semifinal. Potosi posted victories of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-23. Odessa will face Eldon in the third place contest Friday at 10 a.m., while Potosi battle Logan-Rogersville in the championship match at noon.

DISTRICT FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS

KMMO will feature one high school football game on our airwaves this evening.  In Eight-Man Football’s District 3, the Sweet Springs Greyhounds are back in Concordia, this time to face the top-seeded Orioles.  Greg Schmidt will have the call of the game, with pregame from 6:40 p.m. and kickoff at 7 p.m.  The other District Three contest sees Slater visiting Northwest/Otterville.

KMMO.com will also have Cole Camp’s trip north to Westran in a Class One, District Two quarterfinal.  Pregame is also from 6:40 p.m., with kickoff at 7 p.m.  The complete list of games this evening is as follows:
