The Santa Fe Chiefs won the first set, but were unable to keep the Jasper Eagles at bay, falling in four sets Saturday morning in the third place match at the MSHSAA Class One State Championships in Cape Girardeau.

Santa Fe took the first set 25-19, but the 35-2 Eagles evened things up with a 25-21 second set, then dominated the third 25-9 before putting the Chiefs away with a clinching 25-21 fourth set. The Chiefs wrap up the season with fourth place, their 24th trophy finish in program history, along with a record of 23-11.

The championship match saw Winona sweep Advance to claim their sixth state title in program history.
