A Kansas City area woman suffered serious injuries after her pickup was sideswiped on a highway west of Warrensburg on Sunday, Nov. 10.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 72-year-old from Sugar Creek was driving west on U.S. Route 50 about two miles west of Warrensburg, when at around 3 p.m., an unknown white box truck swerved into her pickup’s lane. The pickup became airborne and struck an embankment, ejecting the driver. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Kansas City area hospital.
Troopers say the pickup’s driver was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. The box truck fled the scene in an unknown direction. The patrol continues to investigate the crash.
