Plenty of hardware made its way from the Gans Creek Course in Columbia to Lexington over the weekend, as the Minutemen cross country program is celebrating a team state title and both individual championships.

Addison Smith crossed the line first in the Class Two girls 5k run Saturday morning, registering a time of 19:14.9. Phoebe Engelbrecht and Tessa Lovell both finished the course a minute later, followed by Larissa Adkins and Jaycee Wallace. Their five finishes resulted in a total of 106, putting Lexington ahead of West Platte for the state title. Lafayette County finished seventh in the team standings with 186, led by Alex Erdman in 31st.

Lexington didn’t qualify to compete for the boys team title, but ended up with two runners in the top ten. Chael Lichte claimed the sweep of the individual titles with a 16:31 run, while Conner Soendker was seventh with a 17:12.7 finish.
