Leaders from the Sedalia School District and other members of the Central Missouri Activities Conference are expected to meet Wednesday to discuss conference expansion, including the prospect of adding a current member of the North Central Missouri Conference.

Quincy-based Muddy River Sports reported last month that CMAC schools were considering a request from Hannibal to join the conference, following the announcement Oct. 10 that the NCMC would disband after the 2025-26 school year. Sedalia Superintendent Dr Todd Fraley says he’d like to see the CMAC expand and establish two divisions.

Fraley tells KMMO News that he would prefer divisions to not be decided by geography or school size, but rather how well each school’s programs compete.

Sedalia Smith-Cotton High School is one of seven original members of the Central Missouri Activities Conference, which began play in 2020. The league added Camdenton this year following the disintegration of the Ozark Conference.
