
The Mizzou Tiger women’s basketball team limited Tulane to 15 points in the second half, coming from behind to defeat the Green Wave 60-52 on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.
The Tigers posted a 17-13 lead after the first quarter, before Tulane overwhelmed Mizzou with a 24-13 second term to make the halftime score 37-30. The defense kicked in during the third, as Tulane were limited to just one field goal in the quarter, and fell further behind in the fourth as Mizzou outscored Tulane 30-15 in the second half. Mizzou’s defense caused Tulane to turn the ball over ten times.
Grace Slaughter led the way with 22 points, including three baskets from three-point range. The Grain Valley alumna has scored at least 15 points in three of the Tigers’ first four contests this season. Laniah Randle added 12 points, while Angelique Ngalakulondi netted 10.
The Mizzou women are 2-2 and next host the Western Illinois Leathernecks on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
