Add another trophy to Bobby Witt Junior’s haul from this breakout season, as the shortstop is one of two Royals to pick up a Silver Slugger award.

Witt earned his first Silver Slugger award Tuesday, Nov. 12 in recognition of several milestones achieved over the past season. Witt won the batting title with his MLB-leading .332 batting average, and became baseball’s first shortstop to record at least 30 home runs while swiping at least 30 bases in multiple seasons. He also added more than 40 doubles and 10 triples this past season.

Salvador Perez earned his fifth Silver Slugger award as a catcher, belting 27 home runs. Despite splitting time at first base and as a designated hitter, Perez led all catchers in the American League with 104 runs batted in and an on-base/slugging percentage of .786. This year’s honor extends Perez’ total for most Silver Slugger awards by a Royal and has him fifth all-time among catchers.
