The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved a motion to replace two HVAC units for one of its building during its meeting on Thursday, November 14.

The HVAC units in the Electric Production and Electricians offices have been dealing with maintenance issues and are struggling to keep up over the summer. The Electric Distribution Department requested replacing both units with units of a similar or larger size. After some discussion, the board voted to request proposals to replace the two HVAC units in MMU’s Benton Building.

The board also approved a bid from Drake-Scruggs Equipment for a new service body for an MMU truck in the amount of $19,743. The board reviewed four different proposals and accepted the low bid.

The board then approved a motion to re-appoint General Manager Jeff Bergstrom to represent MMU on the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Board effective January 1, 2025. Bergstrom is MMU’s current representative and expressed his willingness to continue serving in the role.
