A one-vehicle wreck south of Wellington sent a Kansas man to the hospital with moderate injuries Wednesday, Nov. 13.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the accident around 3:20 p.m. on Route 131 north of Big Branch Road. According to troopers, the SUV driven by a 32-year-old man was southbound when he lost control on the wet pavement, traveled off the roadway, and overturned. His 46-year-old passenger suffered the injuries and was taken to a Kansas City area hospital. Troopers say the passenger was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, while the driver had his seat belt on and avoided injury.
