
The Sedalia City Council will consider distributing part of their opioid settlement funds for vending machines to make Narcan available to the public.

Shaw says the council expressed interest in funding the purchase and directed city staff to draft an ordinance authorizing the expenditure.
Also at Monday night’s meeting, the council approved an ordinance prohibiting the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia with fentanyl. Shaw says the idea is to allow the city to charge a suspected drug dealer who is facing corresponding state drug charges.
Shaw adds that the goal is to keep suspected drug dealers off the streets and unable to profit from any drug sales.
Also at Monday night’s meeting, the Sedalia City Council received four strategic planning presentations, along with the annual report from the OATS Transit system.
