Missouri’s smaller colleges will be without a presence in postseason football brackets, but the season is still going for two teams.

The Central Missouri Mules accepted an invite Tuesday, Nov. 19 to represent the MIAA in the Heritage Bowl, set for Dec. 7 in Corsicana, Texas. The Mules finished the regular season 8-3, including a 6-3 mark in the conference. UCM leads NCAA Division II in passing offense with over 402 yards per game, and first downs with 322. Reigning Harlon Hill Trophy winner Zach Zebrowski will lead the Mules into the bowl game, where MIAA teams are 3-0 in previous appearances. The Mules will face the University of Texas at Permian Basin, representing the Lone Star Conference with a 7-4 record.

The Truman State Bulldogs also learned Tuesday that they would book their fourth trip to Indiana to appear in the America’s Crossroads Bowl, also Dec. 7. The Bulldogs finished the year with a 7-4 record, tying for second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 6-2 mark. Truman will have a rematch with Tiffin of Ohio from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, whom the Bulldogs defeated 28-27 in the 2022 edition. The Bulldogs also won this bowl game in 2019 and 2021. This year’s America’s Crossroads Bowl will take place in Hobart, Indiana.
