Students at Concordia Elementary School will have a turkey roaming their hallways Tuesday, Nov. 26, thanks to their efforts to combat food insecurity.

Superintendent Dr Theresa Christian tells KMMO News that the school’s principal will have to fulfill a deal he made with his students ahead of a canned food drive earlier this month.

Christian says the donations will remain in the community.

Concordia R-II Schools will break for the Thanksgiving holiday from Wednesday, Nov. 27 and return Monday, Dec. 2.
