faurot-field-8-27-20

Brady Cook made his last drive on Faurot Field a memorable one, running in the go-ahead score and passing the two-point conversion to claim a 28-21 victory for the Mizzou Tigers over the Arkansas Razorbacks yesterday (Saturday) in Columbia.

Cook carried the ball 11 times for 63 yards, including a 30-yard dash with 1:53 remaining to record the go-ahead score.  The St Louis native then connected with Luther Burden III on the two-point-conversion to make it a seven-point game. The Razorbacks were able to drive to Mizzou’s 32-yard line, but time ran out after three straight incomplete passes.

Mizzou took advantage of two Razorback turnovers to set up their first two touchdowns, both rushing scores by Marcus Carroll. Blake Craig laced through a pair of field goals in the second half, from 28 and 34 yards. Cook was 10-for-20 in the air with 168 yards, including a 70-yard pass play to Theo Wease Jr. Meanwhile, Arkansas’ Taylen Green went 21 for 35 in the air, collecting 229 yards. All three Razorback touchdowns were on the ground from Ja’Quinden Jackson, who had 18 carried for 87 yards, while Green added 53 on the ground on 14 keepers. Mizzou went 6-for-15 on third down, compared to 3-for-11 by Arkansas.

Mizzou advance to 9-3 on the year, 5-3 in the conference, and go 7-0 at home for the first time in program history. With a playoff bid unlikely, Mizzou will await their bowl destination.
