The City of Sedalia will pursue a grant to fund a new exhaust system for one of the fire stations’ engine bays.

The city council authorized the application at their meeting Nov. 18.  City administrator Kelvin Shaw says it’s a 90/10 matching grant.

The council also agreed to a lease allowing Lynn Staus to grow and harvest crops on land that could become an extension of a rail spur at the north end of Sedalia.  Shaw says the lease will net the city $2196.

The council also approved a change amendment to close out one of the eight wastewater projects scheduled for this year, this one taking place at West 28th Street and Quincy.  The change order resulted in a net cost savings of $11,668.  The council also authorized repairs to a wall separating a sidewalk from a parking lot on West Main, after it was struck again.  The repairs are expected to cost $3780.

Sedalia’s city council next meets Monday at 6:30 p.m.
