The senior class at Slater High School is packing their bags for Orlando, once they sell enough T-shirts and yard signs.

The Slater School Board gave their approval Tuesday night to the senior class’ plans following a presentation at the evening’s board of education meeting. Superintendent Dr Terry Lorenz says the students will kick off their fundraising efforts in the next week.

Lorenz says he anticipates more students taking part in the trip this year.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the Slater School Board approved the hiring of three paraprofessionals and added two names to the substitute teacher list. They also received a curriculum update, while approving the annual secretary of the board report and officially changing their meeting time from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Next month’s meeting will take place Dec. 17, a week earlier than usual because of the Christmas holiday.
