A house fire southeast of Warrensburg on Wednesday, Dec. 4 has claimed the life of one person.

The Johnson County Fire Protection District responded to the blaze on SE 350th Road, east of Route 13, around 5:30 a.m. Crews arrived to find the burning remnants of what was a double-wide mobile home trailer. Firefighters discovered a deceased person as they began to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal and Johnson County Fire Investigation Unit. The deceased person’s identity is also pending investigation by the Johnson County Coroner.
