
Nancy Adalee Rea Moran, 104, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Waverly Christian Church in Waverly with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Val Halla Cemetery in Waverly. In honor of Adalee’s life, memorial contributions may be made to the Waverly Christian Church, a community she loved and served faithfully throughout her life. Born November 24, 1920, in Dallas County, Missouri, she was the cherished youngest child of Abraham Stanley and Sarah Elizabeth (Skaggs) Rea and the beloved sister of three brothers and three sisters. Adalee moved to Waverly in 1928 and graduated as part of the Waverly High School Class of 1938, a close-knit group of just eight students. On February 21, 1948, she married the love of her life, John Thomas (J.T.) Moran. Together, they shared 67 years of marriage filled with faith, love, and dedication to family and community.
A devoted and faithful woman, Adalee was an active member of the Waverly Christian Church, serving joyfully with the Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) and the Waverly Council of Women (WCW). She was also a proud member of the Delta Sigma Preceptor Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. One of her greatest joys each year was helping with the church’s apple dumpling fundraiser, a tradition that brought her immense happiness and fellowship.
Adalee was the cornerstone of her family. Her home was a haven of warmth, love, and delicious meals, especially her famous roast beef dinners. She delighted in cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their many events, always their most enthusiastic supporter and steadfast cheerleader.
Adalee’s legacy of love lives on in her daughter, Paula Christopherson, and her husband, Cliff, of Waverly; her grandchildren: John Christopherson and wife Amanda of Waverly, Tim Christopherson of Waverly, and Sarah Thomason and husband Derrick of Waverly; and her seven great-grandchildren: Jacob Perry Christopherson, Avery Moranda Christopherson, Dalton Lee Thomason, Mia Lynn Thomason, Beau Thomas Johnson, Adalee Louise Johnson, and Mylan Daniel Thomason.
She is also survived by her nieces, Norma Wing, Nancy McKinney, Sherry Cordray and husband Alan, Sherry Drunert and husband Tommy, and Joyce Wisner; her nephews, Stanley McKinney and wife Joanie, and Roy Overacre and wife Joy; 13 great-nieces and nephews; and 21 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Adalee was preceded in death by her husband, J.T.; her parents, Abraham and Sarah Rea; two infant daughters; three brothers and their wives; three sisters and their husbands; three sisters-in-law and their husbands; one brother-in-law and his wife; as well as three nieces and four nephews.
Nancy Adalee Rea Moran will be remembered for her boundless love, unwavering faith, and joyful dedication to her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
