Arleen Ruth (Stuenkel) Dittmer, 94, of Concordia MO, passed peacefully Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Care Community (aka Western Missouri Nursing and Rehab) in Concordia.

Born May 1, 1930, in Concordia MO, she was the daughter of Ernest and Hulda (Wolters) Stuenkel. Arleen lived in Concordia her entire life, was confirmed in 1944 and graduated from Concordia High School in 1948. On August 7, 1949, Arleen married Marvin Dittmer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member. She worked as a homemaker and farmed alongside her husband. They were married for 70 years.

Survivors include two children:  Paulette (Dan) Petersen of Fredericksburg TX, and Jim (Pam) Dittmer of Lee’s Summit MO; daughter-in-law, Ruth Dittmer of Jefferson City MO; six grandchildren: Newton (Rachel) Petersen of Austin TX, Weston (Lacie) Petersen of Fredericksburg TX, Kelly (Jon) Garlow of Lee’s Summit MO, Curtis (Lisa) Dittmer of Jefferson City MO, Jeff (Lauren) Dittmer of San Diego CA, and Bobby Dittmer of Camdenton MO; 11 great-grandchildren: Olivia Garlow, Owen Petersen, Reese Garlow, Kaidence Dittmer, Brock Garlow, Ellie Petersen, Lucas Dittmer, Vivien Petersen, Jackson Dittmer, Jacob Dittmer and Miles Dittmer; and several nieces and nephews.

Arleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin, two brothers, Willard and Dick Stuenkel, and her son, Curt Dittmer.

The visitation will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Arleen’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December, 11, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Concordia, with Pastors Michael Pottschmidt and Andrew Lehenbauer officiating. The burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

The family requests no flowers. Arleen was well cared for through her life at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Western Missouri Nursing & Rehab (previously Good Shepherd Care Community) and Good Shepherd Hospice.
