A Lexington man was killed in a two vehicle crash on U.S. 24 at Plainview Lane in Lafayette County on Friday, December 6.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by a 61-year-old Lexington man crossed the center of the roadway and struck a vehicle driven by a 70-year-old Independence man head-on at 3:20 p.m.

The Lexington man was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile passenger in his vehicle had moderate injuries in the crash. The Independence man was taken by air ambulance to KU Medical Center with serious injuries.
