The United Way of Saline County has received a significant donation from teachers across Marshall Schools.
Superintendent Caleb Petet presented funds collected for the organization at last week’s school board meeting, totaling $1900. Petet says the district’s staff was more than willing to contribute to a great cause.
The United Way’s Mary Ann Gilpin expressed surprise and appreciation when she heard Petet announce the amount. She tells KMMO News the contribution will provide a significant boost toward reaching the organization’s fundraising goal for 2025.
The United Way of Saline County set a goal of $16,000 to support six agencies in 2025: CASA, Community Food Pantry, Foster Grandparent Services, Marshall Senior Center, the Saline County Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, and Saline County’s 4-H Clubs.
