The Fayette Board of Aldermen voted last week to commence a search for the city’s next administrator.
Mayor Greg Stidham says the city has been functioning without one for several months.
Stidham notes that the city recently hired a new city clerk, Mati Rogers, following the retirement of Judy Thompson.
Also at last week’s meeting, aldermen approved a sewer waiver request from a resident on West Davis.
A similar request for a resident on West Walnut was also approved. The board tabled a request from a resident outside the city seeking to connect to the city’s water system. Stidham says the resident was not seeking a similar connection to the sewer line, leaving questions as to whether the city could allow such an arrangement. Also last week, the board approved an updated engineering expenses arrangement with the Missouri Department of Transportation for the sidewalk project along Main Street, and adopted a proclamation honoring the life of former mayor Kenny O’Brian, who passed away Dec. 3 at the age of 85.
