A section of Norway Road southeast of Napton no longer belongs on the map.
The Saline County Commission agreed Wednesday, Dec. 18 after a brief hearing to vacate the section of Norway Road between 170th Road and 170th Trail. Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden notes that the decision to relinquish the right-of-way follows a process prescribed by state statute.
The now-vacated right-of-way included a the site of a bridge over the Salt Fork that had collapsed in 2012.
Also at this morning’s session, commissioners accepted the low bid from Mera Excavating of Bonnots Mill for $86,480.73 for repairs to the Melody Avenue bridge outside Orearville. The Commission also agreed to an extension of a lease for the public defender’s office shared with Pettis County in Sedalia, and approved the hire of Kendra Gutshall to the Sheriff’s Office.
