Raymond L. Hicks, 89, of Marshall, MO, died Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2024, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  There is no visitation.  Memorials are suggested to Saline Animal League in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born April 21, 1935, in Napton, he was the son of the late John Garrett Hicks and Velma Lee Mitchell Hicks.  Raymond was raised in the rural Saline and Cooper County areas and was a graduate of Pilot Grove High School.  After marrying his childhood sweetheart, Marilyn A. Kruger, on June 15, 1956, they made their home in Marshall.  Raymond worked for Goodyear Tire and then worked on the dock of Banquet Foods, now Conagra, retiring as dock foreman after 30 years of service.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marshall.

Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Campbell of Marshall; two granddaughters, Siara Campbell (Dan Boyd) of Nashville, TN and Symone Campbell of Colorado Springs, CO.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, John and Velma Lee Hicks; his wife, Marilyn Hicks; his son-in-law, Willie J. Campbell; one sister, Velma Jean Coleman; and one brother, John Taylor “J.T.” Hicks.
