Sedalia Mayor Andrew Dawson recommended Matthew Wirt as Interim City Administrator, following the announcement of City Administrator Kelvin Shaw’s retirement. Dawson’s announcement came during the City Council meeting held on Monday, December 16.

The City Council officially appointed the Interim City Administrator and will commence a nationwide search for a permanent replacement, aiming to have the position filled as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition.

The Mayor will appoint the next City Administrator with the advice and consent from Council. The City Administrator serves as the principal administrative officer of Sedalia, working closely with the Mayor, City Council, and community stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives and manage city operations.
