The Green Ridge R-VIII Schools have selected their new superintendent.
At Wednesday night’s board meeting, the district hired Jonathon Petersen as their new superintendent, starting in the 2025-26 school year. Outgoing superintendent Brett Hieronymus says the board had several quality applicants to consider.
Petersen is currently principal at Cole Camp High School. Hieronymus credited Petersen’s familiarity with the Kaysinger Conference. He tells KMMO News what’s next for him as he prepares to retire from the public sector.
Also at Wednesday night’s meeting, the Green Ridge R-VIII board agreed to put on the April ballot a proposed levy increase. Hieronymus says if passed, the district’s rate will total $4.95, with the increased allocated to the incidental fund.
