Two were injured in a Johnson County crash on Thursday, December 19.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Chula man attempted to pass an unknown vehicle on southbound Missouri 13. The Chula man’s vehicle began to fish tail before traveling off the right side of the roadway and overturning and ejecting the driver. The vehicle came to a rest off an embankment.

The driver suffered moderate injuries in the crash. A 33-year-old passenger in the vehicle had serious injuries. Both were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

The accident occurred at 7:59 a.m. on Missouri 13, at the Blackwater River.
