The Carrollton Town Council approved an agreement with Rural Trash Service (RTS) during its most recent meeting.

Mayor Susan Bliss says the council approved a five year contract with RTS for solid waste disposal. Bliss mentioned the county was responsible for the bidding process. On the subject of RTS and trash pickup, Bliss said residents will have their trash picked up on Thursday for the next two weeks due to the upcoming holidays.

The council also approved an ordinance to remove the city dumpster at the commuter parking lot and prohibit any dumping there.

In other news, Bliss said the council rejected the bids for a side by side UTV for the park because they all came in higher than expected. The council will re-bid and review them at a future meeting.
