
Brenda Lee Snell, 76, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Caring Hearts and Hands Hospice House in Columbia.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born September 3, 1948, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Marvin DeWitt and Marguerite Juanita Wood DeWitt. Brenda lived in the Marshall and Carrollton areas most of her life and was a 1966 graduate of Marshall High School. She also graduated from cosmetology school, earned her cosmetologist license and worked as a beautician for a few years. On August 20, 1967 she married Donald G. Snell who survives of the home and they were blessed with three children. Brenda spent a few years as a cosmetologist, but her passion, pride and love was being a homemaker for her family. While living in Carrollton, she was proud to have been instrumental in forming the H.E.L.P. Services Cancer Fund that provided financial help to residents in Carroll County battling cancer, with those funds staying in Carroll County. Brenda was also a member of the Carrollton Women’s Club and had served as president of the Carroll County American Cancer Society. After returning to Marshall, Don and Brenda founded Stone Hedge Country Club which they owned and operated for many years.
Brenda was happiest when she was surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very creative person who loved to make things for her house and to give away as gifts.
In addition to her husband, Don; she is survived by three children: Jeff Snell (Debbie) of Holden, Amy Davis (Todd) of Chillicothe and Lori Kelling (Scott) of Ballwin; seven grandchildren: Tanner Snell (Paige), Taylor Snell, Alyssa Davis, Kyle Davis, Alec Kelling (Jenna), Garrett Kelling and Logan Kelling; three great-grandchildren: Thea Kelling, Bradley Kelling and Josie Snell; one sister, Norma Jeane Ferguson of Marshall.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Carol La Vonne DeWitt; and her brother-in-law, Charles Ferguson.
