Ann Renee Ross, 74, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Helford Clinical Research Hospital in Duarte, CA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Blackburn, MO, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, MO. Ann was born on January 14, 1950, in Sweet Springs, to the late Ralph V. Thornton and Arzella Rinne Thornton. Ann was a 1968 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. She worked at Cargill and Marshall Habilitation Center most of her working career. Ann was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Blackburn where she loved to worship. She was an avid horse lover and her main priority in life was her grandchildren and her family.

Ann is survived by her children, Jeff Hanes of Sweet Springs and Lisa Sims (Tim) of Marshall; three grandchildren, Sebastian Sims (Michelle), Aaron Sims (Karson) and Karstin Hanes; three great-grandchildren, Sutton Sims, Shepard Sims and Palmer Sims; two brothers, Stanley Thornton (Wanda) of Sweet Springs and Philip Thornton (Phyllis) of Marshall; and nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Walter J. Wells on October 22, 2005 and Tommy Lee Ross on November 30, 2020.
