A Sedalia man is now facing a felony charge of receiving stolen property following his arrest last week by police.

26-year-old Bennett T Neely was charged Friday, Dec. 20 in Pettis County Court with a felony count of receiving stolen property. Sedalia Police arrested Neely on Thursday evening after serving a search warrant on his residence.  Police say they developed leads connecting Neely to multiple burglaries and thefts over the last several weeks. Officers recovered multiple items during the search that they believe were taken from a number of victims.

Neely remains behind bars on $15,000 bail. Online court records indicate that Neely pleaded guilty earlier this year to two charges of possession of a controlled substance. He had received a suspended sentence on each charge in September and was on probation.
