The proposed development of a residential subdivision west of U.S. Route 65 in Marshall generated several public comments and questions during last week’s city council meeting.

City administrator JD Kehrman provided an update to KMMO News on progress to make the 31-acre Meadows at Harvest Creek neighborhood a reality. He says despite concerns raised about the capacity of the wastewater system, the system can handle the addition of over 100 homes.

Kehrman says the holdup remains how stormwater runoff is handled. He notes that the state’s standards have changed in recent years.

Marshall’s planning and zoning board gave preliminary approval last month to the Meadows at Harvest Creek. A final plat will need to go before the city council before construction can begin.
