The prospect of significant winter weather this weekend has resulted in the Missouri Department of Transportation delaying the start of their next bridge project in Carroll County.
MoDOT now says the Route J bridge over Bridge Creek west of Hale will now close Jan. 13 as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle project. The bridge was originally scheduled to close last month for replacement. The current bridge was built in 1932 and handles about 490 vehicles per day. The replacement project is scheduled to take four months.
The Bridge Creek Bridge is the 13th bridge slated for replacement or repair as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle, which is a list of 31 bridges across North Central Missouri deemed to be in poor condition. All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
