The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved several action items during its Thursday meeting.

The board first voted to request bids to rehabilitate 5,000 feet of sewer main using the cured-in-place-pipe method. The budget of the project was set at $150,000, with the work to be completed by outside contractors. The board has reported that CIPP projects from previous years have alleviated a lot of problems in the city’s sewer system.

The board then reviewed proposals to replace the HVAC units of two of MMU’s buildings on North Benton. Five vendors submitted proposals, but the board decided to accept the proposal from George’s Heating and Cooling in the amount of $15,839.

The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 16.
