
The Marshall Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 11:10 a.m. Monday, January 6.
According to a report from the department, a third party called 911 to report a nearby residence was on fire. The department sent three vehicles and six personnel to the scene, where flames were coming from the front of the house with heavy smoke showing. It took approximately two hours for firefighters to get the scene under control.
Personnel rescued about ten small dogs from the structure, however, there were some that perished in the fire.
The department reports the cause of the fire was a space heater in the front room. Crews were able to clear the scene at 2:33 p.m.
