The Concordia Board of Aldermen approved a motion to accept the list of candidates who filed for the April 2025 Municipal Election.

Incumbents Kaleb Nierman (Ward 1) and Mary Beth Scherer (Ward 2) filed and are running unopposed for re-election in April. City Administrator Dale Klussman says the board also discussed adding question on the ballot to approve a use tax for online purchases.

No vote was taken by the board regarding its addition to the ballot. The election is set for April 8, 2025.

In other news, the board added a new chapter to the City Code to set a policy for electronic records and signatures. The city is switching to a new document software that allows for digital signatures and seals, so this chapter establishes the city’s policy regarding use of those electronic records.
