Margie L. Anderson, 91, of Slater, died Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 13, 2025 at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. Bob Fogerty officiating. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Born October 15, 1933 in Deland, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Dale and Carrie Childs Lippincott. She was married to Ralph Wayne Newton, and he preceded her in death. On December 17, 1971, she married Robert L. Anderson, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 1983.

She is survived by five daughters, Diana Haynie of Blue Springs, Genendal Newton of Marshall, April Butner of Marshall, Wanda Cardona of Slater, and Letitia Canfield of Marshall; a stepson, Jerry Newton of Independence, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Marvin Lippincott of Suwannie, Georgia. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Donna Kay Newton; and a brother, Lee Lippincott.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Church of God (Seventh Day). She worked as a teacher for the Slater Head Start for thirty years until her retirement. She later worked as a Foster Grandparent in the Slater School District.
