The City of Moberly is inviting residents to an open house on Thursday, January 23, to learn more about a street widening project scheduled on South Morley Street.

Preparation for this project has been in development for several years with the Missouri Department of Transportation. The city is planning to widen South Morley Street between Burkhart and Carpenter. Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey says the open house is a great way to inform the public about the project and what it will look like.

McGarvey says the project will cost about $2 million, but that number isn’t final. He does note that the cost of the project will be split between the city and the state.

There is no confirmed timeline for the project, but it is expected to begin in late 2025. The open house will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 23, in the Council Chambers at Moberly City Hall.
