bridge-closing-sign-1-8-21

The Missouri Department of Transportation is waiting until February to start work on a bridge in northeastern Chariton County.

The Route D bridge over Mussel Fork, outside Lake Nehai, will now close Feb. 3 instead of its originally scheduled date of Jan. 20. It’s the 14th of 31 bridges in MoDOT’s Northwest Bridge Bundle set for replacement or rehabilitation. The current bridge was built in 1947 and handles fewer than 200 vehicles per day on average. Another project in the bundle, the Bridge Creek Bridge west of Hale in Carroll County, closed on Monday for its replacement over the next four months.
