Keytesville R-3 Superintendent Will Perkins spoke about how the district got through last week’s winter storm using Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI).
Perkins said the weather forced students to stay home on Tuesday and Friday. He says that AMI allows students to stay on track with coursework whenever school days are canceled.
The district is given five AMI days per year. Perkins says the district won’t have to make up any of the school days missed last week.
In other news, Perkins says incumbent Jessica Shannon was the only candidate to file for the April election. The board has two seats listed on the ballot. Perkins says the board will have to appoint a new member to serve a one year term to fill that vacancy.
