
Robert “Bob” Werths, 85, of Concordia MO, went to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at his home at 10:45 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with Pastor Andrew Lehenbauer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis .com.
Bob was born October 17th, 1939, to the late Fillmore J. Werths and Edna Heaper Werths on a small farm outside of Concordia, MO. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Concordia, MO, and schools in Emma, MO and Marshall, MO as a child. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1958. He met Joan “Joanie” Blomquist in a café in 1961 while she was waitressing. Being the love of his life and God given soul mate, they married soon after on August 4th, 1962. Bob was a hard worker and had several jobs throughout his employment years. The longest employment being at Wilson’s in Kansas and Marshall, Schelp and Schelp in Emma, and Concordia High School in maintenance. Even after retirement, he continued to work several jobs to stay busy. He loved driving the school bus for the Concordia school district, especially for the baseball games and tournaments. He said they called him their “lucky charm”. He was blessed with six children and enjoyed his 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. All of whom he loved deeply.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joan Werths of the home; daughter, Susan Reeves of Concordia; sons, Steven (Jenny) Werths of Florida and Tracey (Pamela) Werths of Concordia and Travis (Elisa) Werths of Odessa, MO; daughters-in-law, Robin Werths of Windsor, MO and Cynthia Werths of Sedalia, MO; grandchildren, Jaime (Byron) Breshears, Jordan Merrell, Davin (Ashley) Werths, Jason (Brianna) Lamb, Kelli (Rojo) Grisanti, BrieAnn (John Michael) Rehmsmeyer, Stephanie Werths, Shailie (Justin) Cook, Paige Wood, Collin (Kyndal) Werths, Austin Werths. Austin O’Brien, and Kadee Werths; great-grandchildren; and many extended family and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Dean and David DeWayne Werths; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred “Toodie” and Ledrue “Whitey” Moehlman and Barbra “Barbie” and Chipper Wynne.
