A survey crew is set to visit Glasgow on Thursday, Jan. 16 to assess the status of the city’s wastewater system.
Ace Pipe Cleaning and Camera of Kansas City will help the city map and determine the quality of their sewers lines. City administrator Robert Snider tells KMMO News that the crew will survey the lines currently between Commerce and Market streets, from Second to Sixth streets. Snider says several of these lines may be in need of repair or replacement.
The city’s water and wastewater system dominated discussion at Monday’s board of aldermen meeting. Snider says the council approved a request to repair a private sewer line off Commerce Street, and gave final approval to a $4.33 per month increase for both the water and wastewater system after a public hearing. He adds that the increase will not take effect until this summer.
In other projects, Snider says that the city is waiting to hear from the Missouri State Historic Preservation Commission on the findings of an archaeological dig conducted prior to construction of the new Industrial Drive bridge over Greggs Creek. He adds that for the project to meet deadlines for state and federal reimbursement, construction must begin no later than April 1.
