Brayden Schenn bookended the scoring for the St Louis Blues, notching a pair of goals in their 4-1 win on Thursday, Jan. 16 night against Calgary Flames to sweep both contests at Enterprise Center and get within one point of the coveted second wild card spot.

Schenn opened the scoring nearly five minutes into the game with his chip shot from the right of goal, followed by goals in the opening period from Colton Parayko and Jordan Kyrou. Calgary would get on the board halfway through the second by way of Yegor Sharangovich’s eighth goal of the year. The Blues restored the three-goal advantage on the power play when Schenn tipped in his second goal of the match. Joel Hofer recorded 28 saves in the game.

The Blues wrap up their four-game home stand with six points, and now sit on 48 points, one behind Calgary for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. They’re still fifth in the Central Division, nine points behind Dallas for third. The Blues make their first-ever regular season trip to Utah on Saturday night. Puck drop is at 8 p.m.
