A pair of rest areas along Interstate 70 will close for renovations beginning Tuesday morning.
The I-70 rest areas at mile marker 104 east of Boonville are closing for the next year. The westbound area will close Tuesday morning at 6 a.m., while the eastbound area will remain open until early February. Both the buildings and car parking areas will close, with signs and barricades installed while the renovations take place. Truck parking will remain available. When completed, the new rest areas will have improved access in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The buildings will expand to include an interior vestibule, family restroom, and vending area.
The Missouri Department of Transportation has a map of other rest areas around the state.
