
An Independence woman was injured after her vehicle was struck on westbound Interstate-70 early Saturday morning.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by a 76-year-old Independence woman was struck in the rear by an unknown vehicle, which left the scene after the impact. The woman’s vehicle slid and exited the right side of the roadway, crossing a ramp and striking a ditch.
The Independence woman was transported to University of Missouri Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The accident occurred at 4:20 a.m. on westbound I-70 in Cooper County.
