Several state representatives from our area will serve as committee chairs in the Missouri House this session.
House Speaker Jon Patterson (R-Lee’s Summit) announced the appointments of 32 committee chairs last week as the 103rd session of the Missouri General Assembly continues. Among the chairs from our area, Carrollton’s Peggy McGaugh will chair the committee on administration and accounts, while Windsor’s Rodger Reedy will take over the committee on elections. Ed Lewis of Moberly will become the chair of the committee on elementary and secondary education, while Brad Pollitt of Sedalia will head the committee on legislative review. Bunceton’s Tim Taylor is now the vice chair of the administrative rules committee.
Committee assignments were also announced in the past week. Freshman state representative Mark Nolte of Higginsville will serve on the agriculture and professional registration and licensing committees. He’ll also have a seat on the special committee on rural issues. McGaugh will also sit on the rural issues committee while remaining on the elections and local governments committees. Pollitt will also serve on the agriculture, elementary and secondary education, legislative rules, and utilities committees.
