Concordia residents may be called upon to vote for a tax question during an election later this year.
The Concordia Board of Aldermen is considering an optional use tax collected by city businesses on online sales. The tax would need voter approval, which is why the board is considering an ordinance to place it on the August 5 ballot. City Administrator Dale Klussman says the use tax would be equal to the city’s sales tax.
Aldermen approved the first reading of the ordinance, and will continue discussions regarding its approval during its next meeting in February.
