Greg was born on January 6, 1949, delivered by Dr. Dick Nuckles, to Dennis E. Desmond and Virginia Noth Desmond; both preceded him in death.
Greg grew up on a farm near Marshall. He attended Chappel School, a one room schoolhouse in rural Marshall, through 5th grade. He graduated from Mercy High School in 1967. Greg earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Missouri, formerly Central Missouri State College. He began and ended a successful career in sales.
In 1974, Greg married Judy Dawson and together they raised four children. Greg was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Together the family spent summers at the lake boating, skiing and fishing. After retirement, Greg loved spending time at the family farm near Marshall. He could be found clearing a tree line, mowing fields, visiting with family and friends or just sitting at the picnic table in peace with his surroundings.
Greg is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; three daughters, Tiffney (Leslie) Diehl of Ashland, MO, Jennifer Miniex of St. Louis, MO, Georgia (Mike) Parsons of Wildwood, MO; one son, Luke (Ashley) Desmond of Smithville, MO; and nine grandchildren, Alex, MacKenzie, Tori, Dawson, Hunter, Jayne, Stella, Mac and Jaxson.
He is also survived by his brother, Dennis (Elsie) Desmond of Marshall and their children, Joe (Tanya) Desmond, Jacque (Kent) Wagster and Sean (Margie) Desmond; and several great-nieces and nephews.
