A two-vehicle collision outside Smithton on U.S. Route 50 on Thursday, Jan. 23 injured both drivers.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 7:30 p.m., when a northbound Jeep driven by a 70-year-old woman from Warsaw failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Routes 50 and W. The Jeep pulled into the path of a westbound Jeep, driven by a 40-year-old woman from Lincoln, and was impacted on its right side. The first Jeep then went off the roadway, struck a snowbank, and overturned.

The driver from Warsaw sustained moderate injury and was taken to a nearby hospital, while the driver from Lincoln sought her own treatment of her minor injuries.
