Tamar Bates and Caleb Grill combined to score 48 points as they led the 22nd-ranked Mizzou Men’s Basketball to an 83-75 win over #16 Ole Miss on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Mizzou Arena.

The Tigers spotted the Rebels the game’s first eight points before Bates landed a three-point basket, sparking a 12-0 run that put Mizzou in front. Anothony Robinson sparked another run for Mizzou that built up the Tigers lead, eventually finishing the half up 38-31. Ole Miss got within three, but the Tigers ultimately put the Rebels away with a 14-5 run, resulting in Mizzou staying perfect on the season at home.

Bates led the tigers with 26 points, including 12 from three-point range. Grill added 22 points, with 15 of those also from long distance. The Tigers shot 45 percent from the field while forcing 13 turnovers and limiting Ole Miss’ three-point shooting to just 30 percent.

The Tigers improve to 16-4 overall, 5-2 in the SEC. Provided Mizzou remain ranked in this week’s AP Poll, the Tigers will have another top-25 showdown next weekend, when they visit 14th ranked Mississippi State. Tip-off from Starkville will be at noon, with pregame at 11:30 a.m. on KMMO.
